It is due to the lowest wavelength of the Violet colour.

Violet color is seen at the bottom of the spectrum when white light is dispersed by the prism because-
- When white light enters the prism it is scattered because of refraction as it goes into a denser medium.
- Since the wavelength of different components of light differs from each other, they deviate at different angles.
- Now, the angle of deviation depends inversely on the wavelength of the light.
- Since the violet light has the smallest wavelength, its angle of deviation is the most. Hence it is seen at the bottom of the spectrum.
