Yet, they manage to infect and hijack the host cell machinery so as to make copies of the virus. ... I reckon this suffices for viruses to be called as “ Biological puzzles”.

They are called this because when they are outside the body the show no life process hence they considered to be 'dead' but as soon as they enter the body they become active and start cell division inside the host cell.
