They have both living and non living characteristics.

They perform as a living matter inside the body of a host.

When they are in the atmosphere they behave as a non-living matter till they enter into another host

Viruses are non living organisms. Because they have no specific cell organelles. They are nonliving until they enter a host body. there they start reproduction,and do all the things / works like living cells.
