vishnu is three times as old as his sister pinki. Three years ago, he was two years less than 4 times the ages of his sister . Find their present ages

Let Present age of Vishnu be x and of his sister be y years.

We are given, x= 3y ..................................(1)

               and, x-3+2 = 4(y-3)
                       x-1 = 4y-12
                   so, x-4y = -11

      By Eqn (1),   3y-4y = -11
                           so, y = 11
                    so, x = 33

So, Present age of vishnu = 33 yrs
And his sister's present age = 11 yrs.
