Total distance he travelled = 3 km

◆ Explaination -

Let x be the distance travelled at each speed.

At speed 10 km/hr,

t1 = x/10

At speed 30 km/hr,

t2 = x/30

At speed 8 km/hr,

t3 = x/8

But we know total time is 15.5 min = 15.5/60 hr

t = t1 + t2 + t3

15.5/60 = x/10 + x/30 + x/8

31 = 12x + 4x + 15x

31 = 31x

x = 1 km

Total distance travelled will be 3x = 3 km.
