A Fuse is an electrical device that protects the circuit from various electrical faults such as excessive current flow and overload of electricity.

Fuses are of several types which are available for a variety of applications.

The two main types of fuses based on the type of circuit they are used in are AC Fuses and DC Fuses.

AC Fuses are again classified as High Voltage (HV) Fuses and Low Voltage (LV) Fuses.

MCB or miniature circuit breaker is an electromagnetic device that is completely enclosed in a molded insulating material.

MCB is used for switching the circuit, i.e., to open the circuit automatically when the current passing through it exceeds the value for which it is set.

Three broad types of MCBs are

1. Type B MCB

2. Type C MCB

3. Type D MCB
