My report on the preferable use of clothes in five families in my neighbourhood.
In all the five families I visited, the most preferred clothes’ option has been blended fabric. Their choice of clothes is also influenced by climatic factors depending on the season.
In summer, all the families prefer cotton distinctly to other kinds of fabric. The main reason is, cotton is a natural fibre and is breathable, light, soft and comfortable to wear. Cotton is preferred in spite of the fact that it wrinkles and also shrinks easily after wash. Indian hot climate during summer is a major factor for this choice.
The next best preferred fabric of choice during summer in all the families is silk which is also a natural fibre and is cool in summer and warm in winter. Silk is also versatile and looks grand and gracious to wear.
The only difference in these two fabrics is the cost. Where cotton is affordable and comfortable to wear, silk is costlier but lasts longer and is worn mostly on special occasions.
All five families are unanimous in their choice of blended fabrics and in other seasons when the weather is pleasant. And wool which is a natural fibre and keeps warm, is especially worn in winter.

These types of clothes are especially worn when the season is not hot.
