Visit to a village Saturday fair
Twenty kilometers from my home there is a beautiful little village. My parents and I often visit the village on weekends. This Saturday we decided to visit the Village Saturday fair.
Every Saturday a small fair is held but this Saturday it was a special fair. Lots of stalls were set up. There was an agricultural section where farmers sold fresh vegetables and grains from their fields. Plants of exquisite quality were exhibited. My mother bought some nice indoor plants.
Another section sold cattle. I found this section very interesting. It was a little stinky though but so many animals could be seen. Some stalls sold food and sweets. I loved the fresh hot jalebis. I enjoyed a few joyrides also.
The toy section sold earthen toys. They were so artistic. I bought a bride and groom doll set. When it was time to come home my heart was not willing to go. I felt like the ‘lost child’ in Mulk Raj Anand's short story. I am waiting to visit the fair again.
