The missing province in the region 1 discussions is Ilocos Norte which is a province located in the northern Phillipines . This place is widely known and acknowledged for it's tourist destinations . Some of these tourist destinations include :

(i) The Paoay church - which is built in the Earthquake baroque style just like most churches were built at that time . The church's architecture bears a striking resemblance to the Borobudur Temple ( Indonesia ) . But something special about the Paoay Church is that it has a three story bell tower that is completely detached from the main church . This bell tower has played a significant role in the history of Phillipines . Be it as an observation post for the Katipuneros against the Spaniards in the 1800s or against the Japanese by the Fillipino Guerillas ; this bell tower has proved to be useful .

(ii) Kapurpurawan rock formation - This is a rock formation , known for its creamy white rock surface which is being sculpted and shaped by relentlessly pounding waves .
