To Find : Visualize  using successive magnification 2.3567  upto

three decimal places,  

Solution:

2.3567  upto three decimal places,

= 2.357

Numbers with a negative sign are less than zero

Right of zero represented by ‘+’ sign and to the left of zero represented by ‘–’ sign.  

+ sign numbers can be denoted as simply numbers  

On a number line the number increases as we move to the right and decreases as we move to the left.  

1 : Draw a line and mark some points at equal distance on it as shown in the figure below  Mark a point as zero on it. Points to the right of zero are positive integers and are marked simply 1, 2, 3  and so on , while points to the left of zero are negative integers and are marked – 1, – 2, – 3 and so on

Divide 2 & 3  in 10 equal parts

Then Divide between 3 & 4   on right from 2 in 10 Equal  parts

Then Divide between 5  & 6   on right from 2.3  in 10 Equal  parts

7 right from 2.35   will show 2.357

Steps of visualization:

  1. Draw a line.Mark a zero and divide right side of line into equal segments.Mark 1,2,3...
  2. Put a magnifying glass(Not actually,just visualise) and divide the portion between 2 and 3 into 10 equal parts.Mark numbers like 2.1,2.2,2.3...
  3. Put a magnifying glass and divide the portion between 2.3 and 2.4 into 10 equal parts.Mark numbers like 2.31,2.32,2.33...
  4. Put a magnifying glass and divide the portion between 2.35 and 2.36 into 10 equal parts.Mark numbers like 2.351,2.352,2.353...2.359
  5. The point 2.356 is visualize as shown in attachment.
  6. The same process can repeat once again to visualize the complete number.
