Visualise 2.665 on the number line, using successive magnification.

We Have 2.665

This number lies between 2 and 3 the distance between 2 and 3 is divided into 10 equal parts.

Then the first mark to the right of 2 will represent 2.1 & second 2.2 and so on.

Now 2.665 lies between 2.6 & 2.7. We divide the distance between 2.6 and 2.7 into 10 equal parts  such as 2.61, 2.62, and .....  lies between 2.66 and 2.67.

Again we divide the distance between 2.66 & 2.67 into 10 equal parts such as 2.661 , 2.662 and ……  

Fifth mark will represent  2.665.
