Vitamins and minerals include those substances which are needed for the healthy growth of our body and help to avoid many diseases.

There are two types of vitamins

1) fat soluble vitamins (vitamin A, D, E,K)

2) water soluble vitamins (vitamin B & C)

Deficiency of these vitamins causes many diseases for example, lack of vitamin A leads to night blindness, deficiency of vit. B causes beri beri, lack of vit. D leads to rickets in children and lack of vit C causes scurvy.

Hence, there is great importance of vitamins for good health

Vitamins and minerals are necessary for the body for carrying out various function. Vitamins are also many types like A B C D E K. All of them causes different characters and are helpful for the body.

  • Vitamin A is useful for our eyesight.  Deficiency of vitamin A cause night blindness to a person.
  • Vitamin B help for metabolism process and helps in protection from infection to the body.
  • Vitamin D is very useful for our bones. Deficiency of vitamin D causes beri beri to a person.
  • Vitamin K helps in blood clotting of a person. Deficiency of which vitamin can lead to continuous flow of the blood from the wound.
