Vivian made a solution of baking soda
in water. He added phenolphthalein
to it. The solution turned pink. He then
blew through the solution. He found
that the solution became colourless
What can you infer about the nature
of carbon dioxide from this? Will this
reaction also be called a neutralization
reaction? Why or why not?

Answer:
The nature of CO2 is acidic so it changed phenolphthalein's colour. It can be called a neutralisation reaction as the acid and base react and make the solution transparent again.
