Active Voice refers to a sentence in which the subject is performing the action.

Passive Voice refers to a sentence in which the subject undergoes the action. In other words, it is writing the sentence in reverse order.

Example: She dismissed the crowd. (Active)

                 The crowd was dismissed by her. (Passive)

NOTE: Sentences that convey habitual actions cannot be changed to passive mode.

I was introduced to Dr. Roy last year. (Active)

Dr. Roy was introduced to me last year. (Passive)
