To find:

Voltage drop across inductance L given by ?

Calculation:

The voltage drop (or back EMF) generated across an inductor can be calculated by simplify the rate of change of magnetic flux :

 \therefore \: V =  -  \dfrac{d \phi}{dt}

 \implies \: V =  -  \dfrac{d(L \times i)}{dt}

 \implies \: V =  - L \:  \dfrac{d i}{dt}

 \implies \:  | V |  =   L \:  \dfrac{d i}{dt}

So, the voltage drop in an inductor can be expressed as the product of the inductance and the instantaneous rate of change of current through the circuit.
