we know,

volume of solid hemisphere =
 \frac{2}{3} \pi \:  {r}^{3}
and,

surface area of this hemisphere will be =
3\pi {r}^{2}

A/Q,

3\pi {r}^{2}  =  \frac{2}{3} \pi {r}^{3}  \\  =  > r =  \frac{9}{2 }  \\  =  > d = 2 \times r \\  =  > d = 2 \times  \frac{9}{2}  = 9

Thus, diameter = 9 units.
