Given :

Mass of oxygen , m = 3.2 g .

To Find :

The volume of 3.2 gram atom of oxygen at S.T.P .

Solution :

Molecular mass of oxygen molecule ,

M.M = 32 g .

Therefore , number of moles of oxygen is :

n=\dfrac{3.2}{32}=0.1\ moles

Now , we know volume of 1 mole of gas at S.T.P is 22.4 liters .

Therefore , volume of 0.1 mole of oxygen at  S.T.P is :

V=22.4\times 0.1\\V=2.24\ liters

Therefore , the volume of 3.2 gram atom of oxygen at S.T.P is 2.24 liters .
