Given:

Volume of cylinder = 308 cm³

Height = 7cm

To find:

We have to find

  • Lateral surface area
  • Total surface area

Solution:

Volume of cylinder = πr²h

Where, r = radius of the cylinder

            h = height of the cylinder

Now, we will put the values and find the answer.

    πr²h = 308 cm³

    \frac{22}{7} × r² × 7 = 308

   r² = \frac{308.7}{22.7}

   r² = \frac{2156}{154}

   r² = 14

   r = 3.74 m

The lateral surface area of cylinder is = 2πrh

 = 2 × \frac{22}{7} × 3.7  × 7

= 162.8

The lateral surface area of cylinder is 163 cm²

The total surface area of the cylinder = Lateral Surface Area + 2πr²

= 163 + 2 × \frac{22}{7} × (3.7)²

= 249

The total surface area of the cylinder = 249 cm²

∴The lateral surface area of cylinder is 163 cm²

The total surface area of the cylinder = 249 cm²
