Volume of water does not increase when you add salt in it why

⇔ Well the reason behind this is :

→ If you add salt to water, in any amount, you’ll have more volume than the water alone.

→ As long as the salt dissolves, though, you’ll have less volume than the combined salt and water.

→ Now, there are salts which, if you add a small amount to water, will actually cause the water to contract slightly, so the volume of the solution is less that the original water. 

→ But ordinary table salt won't do that.

because there are more space between the particles so they mix completly without bringing any change
