GIVEN :

Sides of a right ∆ ABC are 5cm, 12cm and 13cm.

It is revolved about 12cm side. Then it forms as a cone.

Height will be 'h' = 12cm

Radius will be 'r' = 5cm

Here, we have to find the volume of Cone.

We know that,

Volume of cone = 1/3πr²h

= 1/3 × 22/7 × 5² × 12

= 22/7 × 25 × 4

= 22/7 × 100

= 2200/7

= 314.28cm³

Therefore, volume of obtained solid will be 314.28cm².

Answer:

Answer: 314 cm. [ approx. ]

Step by step explanation:

Let Angle B be 90°.

Hence,

Hypotenuse, AC = 13 cm. AB = 12 cm, BC = 5 cm.

Given that,

∆ABC is revolved about the side with 12 cm that is, AB.

Thus, Cone is formed, as a result.

Let radius = r = 5 cm and height= h = 12 cm.

Volume of solid formed = Volume of cone

= 1/3 πr²h

= 1/3 × π × 5 ×5 × 12

= 100π

[We know that, π = 3.14]

= 100 × 3.14

= 314 cm. [ Approx. ]

Hence, The volume of the solid so obtained is 100π cm or 314 cm.
