(i) W completes 25% work in 30 days
(ii) X completes 25% work in 10 days
(iii) Y completes 40% work in 40 days
(iv) Z completes 1/3% work in 30 days
Solution :-
For W;
==> 25% of work in 30days
==> 1%of work = 30/25 days
==> 100%of work = (30/25) × 100
==> 100%of work = 120 days
Similarly for X;
==> 1/4 of work (which is 25%) = 10 days
==> 100% of work = (10/25) × 100
==> 100% of work = 40 days
Also we can calculate for Y;
==> Y completes 40% work = 40 days
==> 100% of work = (40/40) x 100
==> 100% of the work = 100 days
And for Z;
==> Z completes 1/3% work = 30 days
==> 100% of the work = (30/33 ) x 100
==> 100% of the work ≈ 90 days
Now we have all the values :-
W = 120days
X = 40 days
Y = 100days
Z = 90 days
We can see from above calculated values that X takes least number of days which is 40 days.
Hence :-
X will finish first.
