An ideal machine is a machine whose efficiency is 100% , i.e. in that machine no work is lost in the form of heat between parts or dune to friction...work input = work output...
It differs from the practical machine in the respect that practical machine always has efficiency less than 100%, since there is always some energy lost in the form of heat or other forms...thus work output is not equal to work input
