1)Now to get 6 ohms, connect 6ohms and 6 ohms in pararrel and connect that combination parallel to the thirdas shown in attachment. now this effective resistance 3 is kept parallelto the last 6 ohm resistor. so R=2ohms.

2)When the wire is stretched to double the length , the area of cross section gets reduced to half. So when the wireis stretched, the resistance multiplies by four times. Hope you understood. Keep exploring.
