Answer ⇒ Option (d). 0.9 m.
Explanation ⇒ ∴ Since, the spring obeys Hook's law.
''This means extension produced in the spring will be directly proportional to the force. (As what said by the Hooke's law.)''
∴ x ∝ F
∴ x = kF, where k is constant of Hooke's law.
∴ k = x/F
∴ k = 0.3/2
Now, when a force of 6 N is applied, then k = x/6
Now, k being an constant will remains same.
∴ x/6 = 0.3/2
∴ x = 0.9 m.
Hence, option (d). is correct.
Hope it helps.
