3. Solve the following quadratic equations
by factorisation:
(i) x(2x + 1) = 6 (ii) 3x2 = x + 4

1.

x(2x+1)=6

2x^+x = 6

2x^+x-6=0

2x^+4x-3x-6=0

2x(x+2)-3(x+2)=0

(2x-3) (x+2)=0

2x-3=0. x+2=0

2x = 3. x = -2

x=3/2

two roots are 3/2,-2

2.

it is not a quadratic equation since it has degree 1

question is unclear

3.

x(6x-1)=35

6x^-x-35=0

6x^-14x+15x-35=0

2x(3x-7x) +5x(3x-7x) =0

(2x+5x) (3x-7x)=0

7x=0. -4x =0

x=0/7 =0. x=0/-4=0

roots are 0,0

4.

x(2x+5)=3

2x^+5x-3=0

2x^+6x-1x-3=0

2x(x+3)-1(x+3)=0

(2x-1) (x+3)=0

2x-1=0. x+3=0

2x=1. x= -3

x=1/2 , x = -3

roots are 1/2, -3
