Given :- wages of a labourer are increased by 12.5% and his working hours are decrease by 8%. initially he used to earn rs 1200 for 50 hours in a week .

To Find :- present wages per hour and his percentage increase in his percentage increase in his weekly wages .

Solution :-

→ Initial wages in a week = Rs. 1200

→ Total working hours = 50

So,

→ Initial wages per hour = 1200/50 = Rs. 24

now,

→ Wages is increased by = 12.5 %

So,

→ New wages per hour = (24 * 112.5) /100 = Rs. 27 (Ans.)

and,

→ Total working hours decreased by = 8%

So,

→ New working hours = (50 * 92)/100 = 46 hours .

then,

→ New weekly wages = 27 * 46 = Rs. 1242

therefore,

→ Weekly wages increased by = 1242 - 1200 = Rs.42

hence,

→ % increased in his weekly wages = (42 * 100)/1200 = 3.5% (Ans.)
