here the distance is constant

let the distance be 'x'kms

now at his first journey, time taken, t1 = \frac{distance}{speed} =\frac{x}{5}hours

at his second journey, time taken t2 = \frac{x}{6}

t1-t2=10 minutes, i.e 1/6 hours

\frac{x}{5} -\frac{x}{6} =\frac{1}{6}

solving, we get x=5kms
