There isn’t a limit in painting the walls. If there are paint build-ups you can absolutely sand them off. You can repaint whenever you are ready for a change in the appearance of your house. But if you are wondering how many times you can paint a wall before you can get the desired color? Repaint the wall with at least two coats of your new color. If you are painting over a darker color using a lighter one, you might need more than two coats to prevent the previous color from showing through. If you the surface is still fine and you just want to cover up, it is alright to repaint painted walls.
