Dear Diary:

I am very happy today. The school organized an excursion to Science City, Kapurthala and Wonderland, the famous amusement park in Jalandhar. It was real fun visiting both the places with class fellows and teachers. The ride from school to the park was fully electric. The students sang songs and danced in the moving bus. We enjoyed the rides. The park echoed with our excited cries. A delicious lunch was provided to the students by the park banquet hall. At the Science City, we saw various models of science. We saw the miniature models of Mangalyan, the Indian Moon Mission to Mars; Akash, Prithvi, Agni missiles. We also saw the Jurassic Park era depicted in models. It was a great trip; I will cherish it all my life.

Dear Diary,

The Crafts Mela at Suraj Kund was much more impressive and grand than what I had imagined. This year the ‘Theme State’ was Rajasthan. The whole campus was painted with the visuals of Ranthambore, Chittor, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. It was Mini India assembled on a few hundred acres of land. All the awarded artisans from different states had set up their workshops and stalls there. Many countries, more particularly Pakistan, Nepal and Afghanistan gave it an international look. Bangles, jewellery decoration pieces, wall-hangings, purses, shoes, sarees, garments and cosmetics found thousands of buyers. Every evening there were cultural shows at the ‘Chaupal’ and the ‘Rangmanch’. The ‘Food Court’ provided all kinds of delicacies for food-lovers. Basically, it was India in all its culture and tradition.

Hope it helps you!!
