• The ‘Swaraj Party’ was a ‘political party’ formed in India in ‘January 1923’. They wanted better self-government and were looking for freedom politically for the Indians from the British.  
• There were many candidates of the ‘Swaraj Party’ including Chittaranjan Das and ‘Motilal Nehru’ who stood for elections to the legislative assembly.  
• They eventually got elected to the ‘central legislative assembly’ and provincial legislative council and thereafter they were able to oppose the unjust policies of the ‘British government’.
