Mr. Abel Merryweather had decided to change his will after realising what had happened at Mrs. Slaters house. He realised that his two daughters had come to the house only for his possessions and not out of love, especially realising that Mrs. Slater (Amelia) wanted to take his Bureau and Clock for herself. He also realised that they didnt bother about him whenever he was staying at either's house as he was a menace to them. Thus, he decided to marry Mrs. Shorrock who was incharge of the Ring 'O' bells as she would have a pleasure to look after him and as they had also been together for quite some time.
