Yes, Bruno was a loving and playful pet. The bear became very attached to narrator’s two Alsatian dogs and to all the children of the tenants living in the bungalow. He was left quite free in his younger days and spent his time in playing and running into the kitchen.

He had to be sent away because he was grown many times the size he was when he came. It was becoming difficult to keep him in the house.
