Grandfather had kept quite a few animals in his

home and whenever a new addition was made to

the collection , Grandmother did not like it. So,

Toto was hidden from her eyes initially. He was

kept in a closet tied securely to a peg, fastened into

the wall.

But both to the narrator’s and Grandfather’s

dismay, a disaster had taken place inside. The

ornamental paper was all pulled down. The

narrator’s blazer was torn to innumerable pieces.
