The writer who was flying to England encountered dark clouds infront of him. The writer didn't have enough fuel to take a longer route to avoid the clouds. Thus he decided to take the risk of flying through stormy clouds.

When the narrator entered the clouds, it became impossible to see outside. The aeroplane jumped and twisted in air and all the instruments stopped working.

Suddenly the narrator saw a black aeroplane with no lights on it. The author could not see the face of the other pilot. The pilot of the black aeroplane guided the author out of the clouds.

A plane generally doesn't fly with no lights on. And moreover if everything thing was dark, it seems impossible for the author to see the gestures of the other pilot.

So, according to me, there's no other pilot who helped the author. Rather, the author started hallucinating at that moment and it's his innerself which showed him the way, and that innerself and confidence is present in everybody which can act like a super power at tough moments.
