He is counted among the founders of the Ricardian school of economics.[3] His son, John Stuart Mill, was also a noted philosopher of liberalism, utilitarianism and the civilizing mission of the British Empire.

they were classified as fair by the people of olden times  But It was not accepted by Indian historians because it did not provide a complete view on everyone. James Mill divided Indian history into three parts: Hindu, Muslim and British. This periodisation does not help use understand the lives of other minority.
