It cannot be said to as a complete success but it was helpful in making the Britishers realize that they were not going to rule over India for long now. His unique way to fight against colonialism included non-violence.

His non-cooperation movement was a hit for some time but later on, people went impatient and the incident at Chauri-Chaura made Gandhiji realise that maybe his decision to lead a non-violence movement was wrong. That incident made him step back from the movement. The non-cooperation movement was stopped retrieved by Gandhiji.

Answer:

Yes, Mahatma Gandhi’s unique mode of struggle against colonialism was a success as with patience and non violence Gandhi's movements helped in achieving what violence couldn’t achieve.

Explanation:

The prime example is the non-cooperation movement where in the British raj was in great shock as they didn’t expect non-violence and huge amount of patience will actually bring so much popularity to the movement in the eyes of the public.
