Mir Jafar was NOT justified in supporting the British as eventually Mir Jafar lost power and was just a puppet governor. The power lied in the hands of the British even though Mir Jafar was expecting the opposite.
Conflict of values that led to Battle of Plassey were that the British wanted to acquire more power and land in India, while the Siraj-ud-Daulah became a great resistance.
