Yes,opposition was in serious need in the years after independence as absence of the former had caused India a major setback.
Explanation:
- Though Congress was in the face of independence of our country through years as told and reported or recorded the most with stories of undertaking attempts of freeing India, there were several other parties been not known much worked for the same purpose with ideologies and philosophical difference.
- Communist party of India worked hard in putting forward the idea of democracy and many famous ruling rules of Today's India but the leaders of the party were sent to jail for years as the Congress was always in good books of British,if seen politically than its their plot of snatching opportunities to come into the limelight of struggle thereby overthrowing any other parties trying to run parallel to them in those years.
- There were many ideologies and policies seemed not really worked well with the then India made by the Congress however they were enforced on the people and who ever took a stand against them were politically and strategically driven away from fate.
- If there were a opposition than India would have in a much better situation than today with economy and reforms strategies in the path of development as there would have been competition to become better or develop.
