Shabarimala is not related to Buddhism. It is place where a hindu God Ayyapa ( Shasta ) Stays. Lord Ayyapa is the son of Lord Shiva and Vishnu ( who took Mohini form ) . He was raised by King of Pandalam , and so he was also called Pandalaraja.
His mission was to kill demon Mahishi and after accomplishing he came and stayed in shabarimala and said Every year one time ( during makaravilakku ) His devotees would come and meet him there as a pointed a place and King had made a temple there. He said everyone who are coming should take 41 days of fasting and should be pure and women of below 10 and above 50 should only come there. He was a bramhachari( bachelor ) so he doesn't want young girls to come and see him . He only wanted small sister ( below ) and lady's of his mother's age ( above 50 ) to visit him.
