The child's return was written by Rabindranath Tagore.

t is a story about a man called Raicharan, a loyal servant who served his master.

Very soon his master had a son and he took good care of his son.

When the son grew up, he married a woman and Raicharan served not one but two masters.

Soon, the had a boy and one day in the fields, Rai Charan lost the boy drowned in the river.

Raicharan returns back to his village due to his guilt and very soon his wife delivers a boy despite her old age.

She dies at the child's birth. Soon, Raicharan provides his son with the best clothes and the best education.

In the last, he return's to his master house to present his son as theirs.

Raichand's son is enraged that he grew up a simpleton all his life but he forgives Raichand.
