The first person to set foot on the moon is Neil Armstrong. But actually Edwin Aldrin was selected by NASA to set foot on the moon first. What actually happened on the moon landing was when the Apollo 11 rocket touched down the lunar surface, command was given to Edwin to set foot on the moon. But he hesitated by thought that what would happen to him if set foot there. Then NASA commanded Neil to follow. Then Neil without even thinking went out the lander and became the first person to set foot on the moon.
