No, this question was not out of syllabus.
Grains like wheat and barley need to be dried before harvesting in order to store safely.
Drying can be done both artificially by dryer and by natural methods like sunlight. Sunlight is a combination of visible, infrared and ultraviolet rays.
Infra red rays also known as ‘heat radiation’ is responsible for the drying of wheat after harvesting as it is quickly absorbed by the wheat plant cells.
