Was the Revolt of 1857 was more than a mutiny and less than a war? Whom do you

Yes, it was more a mutiny, because only a handful of indian sepoys and leaders indulged in violence.

Also it was not thourougly spread throughout the country, and only occured in the u. P meerut area and a few other provinces.

Also we didnt have advanced technology like the British did, and hence, they could overcome the rebellion.

Hence, we can say it was not war but the rebellion of 1857.
