Washing soda loses its crystalline structure quickly because of the loss of water in it. This occurs suddenly when it is exposed to air or the atmosphere which makes the water available in it to evaporate. This phenomenon of losing the crystalline structure when exposed to air is known as efflorescence.

hope it will helps you...........
