Given:-

  • Wasim bought two cricket bat for rupees 840 and sold for rupees 360 respectively.
  • The first bat at a gain of 15% it and the second one at the loss of 5%

To find:-

  • Fine gain or loss percent in the whole transaction...?

Solutions:-

  • CP of the first bat = Rs 840

  • Profile % on the first bat = 15 %

Profile = 15 % of Rs 840

= 15/100 × 840

= 3/2 × 84

= 3 × 42

= Rs 126

  • SP of the first bat = Rs 840 + Rs 126 = Rs 966

  • CP of the second = Rs 360

Loss = 5 % of Rs 360

= 5/100 × 360

= 5/10 × 36

= 1/2 × 36

= Rs 18

SP of the second bat = Rs 360 - Rs 18 = Rs 342

Total CP of two bat = CP of first bat + CP of second bat

= Rs 840 + Rs 360

= Rs 1200

Total SP of two bat = SP of first bat + SP of second bat

= Rs 966 + Rs 342

= Rs 1308

Thus,

Total SP of two bats > Total CP of two bats

Gain = Total SP of two bats - Total CP of two bats

= Rs 1308 - Rs 1200

= Rs 108

Gain % in the whole transaction

= gain/Total CP of two bats × 100%

= 108/1200 × 100

= 108/12

= 9 %

Hence, gain or loss percent in the whole transaction is 9 %.
