In the past man were radically differentiated from women. men were given all the facilities including education , schooling wheras for women it was believed that they should stay at home since going to school would prevent them from doing their jobs like cooking , washing clothes and other house chores. if a married women husband was dead then the wife was thrown in the same fire and was left burning with the husband this practice was known as sati later a ruler named raja ram Mohan Roy fought against the practice of sati .Many rulers and emperors lie mahatma Gandhi fought for the equality . even many of the women struggled a lot for the equality but today still in some places example in villages women are not allowed to go for schooling .
