Mitosis and meosis are the two rypes of cell division.
Mitosis is named as "Equational Division" as the number of chromosomes remains equal in daughter cell, to the parent cell. This type of cell division occure in most of cells of body, specially in the case, when there is need of replacement of old cell by newly formed. Ex. Injury
while
Meosis is aka "Reductiontional Division" because the number of Chromosome is reduces to half in daughter cell as compare to Parent cell. This type of cell division occures only and only in Sex Cells(Spermatogonia and Oogonia) in testis and ovary simultaniously in male and female.
