In the Kakori Conspiracy case, Uttar Pradesh, Bhagat Singh along with other revolutionaries like Rajguru, Ashfaqulla and Roshan Lal, stopped a British train because they needed more arms and ammunitions. However, they were caught. Ashfaqulla shot himself dead but Bhagat Singh was tried and given death penalty because he was also accused for the assassination of General Saunders, who killed Lala Lajpat Rai.
