virus is non cellular parasitic entities. they can not live and reproduce outside of living cells since they lack the machinery to do so by themselves. they range in size from 20to 250nm.viruses are either virulent, destroying the cell in which they occur or temperate.they are like little spheres or golf balls,rod shaped,like tadpoles and may be polyhedral.

they cause many animals and plants diseases such as poliomyelities,colds, aids and tobacco mosaic virus etc
