water as ice has cooling effect, whereas water as steams causes severe burns ! how ? explain ?

As when water is present as steam, it has more latent heat than water in liquid and solid (ice) state. So water as steam can cause severe burns.

Because steam absorbs latent heat of vaporisation thus has more energy. ..
